Having misspent his early years endlessly watching the Looney Tunes it's no surprise to learn that Alan Marriott has been doing funny voices for as long as he can remember. To actually start voicing cartoons himself was the fulfilment of a life's dream for Alan and his voice can be frequently heard popping up in animation throughout the English speaking world including, Bob the Builder, Bounty Hamster, Animal Stories, Vampires, Pirates and Aliens, Anthony Ant, two cartoon feature films, Back To Gaya and Globi.
Currently Alan can be seen and heard as Ang/Golden Dragon in the second series of 'Legends of the Dragon' for BKN, as well as the 'not quite heroic' spy, Victor Volt in BBC 1's 'The Secret Show' (Collingwood O'Hare). Alan has recently completed voice directing the BKN Classics Series in which he also played assorted character voices. His professional career doesn't just stop at cartoons but spans many disciplines including theatre, writing, directing, teaching, music, and commercial voice overs.
An expert at improvisational comedy, Alan has worked with or taught almost every improvisational theatre group in London, England including: The Comedy Store Players, Impro Musical, Impropera, Big Wednesday, LTS, Brickbats Volunteers, South of the River (with Steve Frost and Jeremy Hardy) and, his own current impro troupe, Grand Theft Impro. A list of Alan's former students reads like a who's who of British comedy and includes Eddie Izzard, Alan Davies, John Sparks, Gordon Kennedy, Neil Ashdown, Fay Ripley, Ben Keaton, and many more...
Alan credits as an accomplisher stage performer includes performing with the Reduced Shakespeare Company in London's West End, at the Criterion Theatre. Continuing his link with the Reduced Shakespeare Company, Alan is currently engaged in writing and performing in 'Dogland', (an Internet comedy, sketch show with founder RSC member, Adam Long) and is just finishing shooting a feature film 'Teeth', with director, Jonathan Newman.
